Zaply.me

Review request message generator

In about 30 seconds you get three review requests: short, standard, and warm. For email, SMS, Instagram, or a note in the parcel.

The reward in these drafts is for sending the review, including a critical one. Not for praise.

How to ask a customer for a review

This is the practical note for the draft you just generated. No promised results and no invented numbers. It covers when to send, how to write, and a reward that does not depend on praise.

When to send the request

A review request makes sense once the customer knows what they bought. In an online shop that is usually a few days after delivery, not in the minute they pay. The parcel has to arrive. Ask about the order and the packaging, not about health.

One message per order. If there is no reply, one reminder a few days later is enough. Two requests on the same day feel like pressure. A note in the parcel works when the box is opened. SMS and email work better after delivery, when the tracking status already says the parcel is with the customer.

WooCommerce, Shopify, and Shoper can send that email on a delay counted from fulfillment or from payment. In Zaply the link to record a video can go out automatically after the purchase. This generator is for the message you send yourself: by email, SMS, Instagram or Messenger, or as a note in the parcel.

How to write the request

A review request template answers five questions: who is writing, which order you thank them for, what you ask, how long it takes, and what the customer receives. Put the reward next to the ask. Keep the link visible. A {name} variable and the real shop name are enough.

Write the way you speak at the counter. The short variant fits an SMS. The standard one suits email. The warm one says you are not looking for praise. Do not mix a casual tone and a formal tone in one message.

How to ask a customer for a review when you do not know whether the purchase suited them: ask about the order and leave room for criticism. “Tell us if something did not fit” is fairer than a request for good impressions only. The templates in the generator are built that way.

What to avoid

Do not tie a code, a gift, or a prize draw to the tone of the review, to a star rating, or to editing a review that was already posted. Do not send the draft only to people you expect praise from and then present that selection as every review.

Do not pretend the note is a private message from a friend. Do not invent a deadline such as “two hours left”. Do not ask about health, supplement effects, weight, or how someone feels. Do not promise that a film will definitely run as an ad if you never mention likeness consent.

Avoid the request while the customer does not have the parcel yet, and avoid a series of reminders. One order, one request, at most one reminder. Also avoid words you would not say when handing the bag over in person.

Text, photo, and video

A text review has the lowest bar. The customer replies to the email or opens the link. That is a good choice when the product is simple and you collect reviews for the shop page. Text does not replace a film in an ad, but it is quick and can be read in full.

A photo shows the product in use. If a face is in the frame, you need consent to show it. Do not ask for a photo of a document, of a body in a health context, or of an animal in distress.

A video is about 20 seconds on a phone in the browser, with no Zaply app. Zaply turns it into a creative with captions and a logo in 9:16, 4:5, and 16:9. Likeness consent comes before recording. Without it, the clip does not go into an ad. The film should talk about the order, not offer praise.

How to reward a review lawfully

A reward for sending a review is a different model from paying for praise. A discount code or a gift on the next order can thank someone for their time. In the message, say that it is theirs even when the review is critical, and that it does not depend on the tone.

The Polish competition authority, UOKiK, expects reviews to be genuine. A benefit only for a positive rating can be treated as an unfair practice, because it pushes a review that does not match the experience. This page does not cite a case number or a percentage of cases. The rule follows unfair-commercial-practice law and the way the authority describes consumer reviews.

Video adds likeness consent. Article 81 of the Polish Civil Code protects the use of a person’s likeness. Before recording, the customer should see what the film is for, for example ads and social media, or social media only. They can refuse.

If you do not want to offer a reward, say so. No code is fairer than a code for five stars. The generator has a “nothing” option for that.

Questions about review requests

When is the best time to ask for a review?

When the customer already has the order and has had a chance to use it. In practice that is often a few days after delivery. Not at the moment of payment, and not before the parcel arrives. One message per order, and at most one reminder later.

Can I offer a discount only for a positive review?

Do not set the reward so that it is only for praise, for five stars, or for changing a critical review. The safer model is a code or a gift for sending the review, including a critical one. Say that in the message.

Does an SMS have to stay under 160 characters?

One SMS segment holds 160 characters of the basic Latin alphabet. Polish letters often shorten a segment to 70. The generator warns at 160. The short variant is written to fit. A name, a shop name, and a link add characters.

How is a video review different from text and a photo?

Text is the shortest task for the customer. A photo shows the product. A video of about 20 seconds on a phone gives footage that can become an ad with captions and a logo. Video needs likeness consent. None of the three formats requires praise.

Do I need likeness consent?

Yes, if the review shows a face and you want to show the recording or the photo further, especially in an ad. Consent is collected before recording and says what the material is for. Without consent you do not publish that take.

Will Zaply send this message for me?

The generator gives you text to copy. After you create an account, Zaply can send the video-recording link automatically after a purchase in WooCommerce, Shopify, or Shoper. The recording becomes a creative. You start with 3 films, and no card.
